Have you ever been curious about trying plant-based food options at the Hollywood Farmers Market (HFM)? Did you know that vegan food actually tastes delicious? Or are you a vegan who may think vegan options are lacking at the market? We know that our community loves the many vegetables, fruits, mushrooms, hot sauces, etc. found at the market, but whether you’re vegan or just wanting to eat a plant-based meal, alternative food options are just waiting for you to experience them.
Get to know our newest vendors to the market.
Rebecca and Ruby, two nature lovers and the creators of Mundus Foods, have perfected the art of making the creamiest dairy-free cream cheeses and whipped cream in addition to prepackaged meals such as Cheddar & Veggie Mashed Potato Mix. Their Roasted Garlic & Herb Cultured Cream Cheese is one of my favorites.
If you’re in the mood for creamy chocolate mousse, stop by Goddess Mousse. Their sweet delights will have your taste buds swirling. Try one or all: Peanut Butter, Raspberry, Mint Chocolate, and Caramel Chocolate. And it’s not just for dessert – try it as an ingredient in baking. Made with hand crafted tofu for texture, body, and amino acids; maple syrup for sweetness and minerals; direct trade cacao for responsible harvest and rich, earthy velvetiness; Madagascar bourbon vanilla for aromatic luxury, and Oregon sea salt as a final touch, this treat is asty and healthy too!!
For some of the best tempeh in town, stop by Squirrel and Crow Tempeh. Jon has perfected the art of creating non-soy tempeh. Sustainably sourced lentils, black beans, chickpeas, quinoa, and sunflower seeds are crafted and fermented using traditional methods. This high-protein food can be fried, grilled, braised with sauces, or baked. If you want a fast meal, try out the tempeh ribs. You can even eat them cold. I find their rich, smokey flavor a wonderful treat.

At Nourishment, Ramona’s “Bob Loblaw”, which blends spiced tofu, potatoes, collards, black beans, avocado, and salsa in a burrito or a bowl, is one of my market favorites.
Noodle maker Umi Organic, winner of a 2021 Good Food Award, blends the right mix of flavors in their vegan offerings. When you crave Japanese noodles, try their colorful yakisoba noodle bowls with roasted vegetables, mushrooms, and pickled radish. At Hollywood Farmers Market, yakisoba is cooked and served with miso sesame sauce for a rare treat.
If you thought that flavorful Mexican vegan options were unattainable, you haven’t tried Montiel Cocina’s burritos or vegetarian tamales.
Suzette Creperie has too many nummy options to list. But names like Vegan Shakshuka, Vegan Roasted Mushroom, Vegan Marsala – Soaked Figs, wow!! And if you long for something sweet, their chocolate dessert crepe will melt in your mouth.
Speaking of chocolate, do you yearn for more? With their handcrafted dark chocolate bars, Buddha Chocolate goes toe to toe with some of the best chocolatiers. Free of refined sugars, their vegan chocolate satisfies even the most discriminating chocolate lover.
Hollywood Farmers Market and our vendors make it possible for everyone to find an assortment of vegan options.
