You’ve probably seen the Hollywood Gleaners collecting food at the end of the market each week. Darning black aprons with a creative green logo, this volunteer group, 
accepts food donations to help feed low-income seniors in the Hollywood area.
Their commitment and hard work has paid off and the program has taken on a life of it’s own. This year, they have already collected twice as much food as this time last year!
There’s only problem with all this success, where to store all that food. So far the Hollywood Senior Center, Rose City Park Presbyterian Church, Grocery Outlet and the volunteers themselves have all opened their refrigerators to keep the food as fresh as possible but that is not a sustainable way to run this effective program.
