Did you know that you can use your SNAP/EBT (Oregon Trail) card at the market, and get up to $20 extra in Double Up Food Bucks? Drop by the Info Booth to use your card.
SNAP Purchases
Customers using their SNAP/EBT card (also known as Oregon Trail) will receive tokens in $1 denominations that may be used to buy vegetables, fruit, poultry, seafood, meat, breads, dairy products and plants or seeds for growing food. Vendors cannot make change for the green tokens.
EBT Cash Purchases
Shoppers receiving EBT Cash benefits (typically age 65+) can also run their Oregon Trail card at the information booth, and get tokens in $5 denominations. These $5 tokens can be used to purchase all products at the farmers market. Vendors give change in cash for orange tokens.
Double Up Food Bucks
When SNAP and EBT Cash customers use their card at the market to buy tokens, they also get Double Up Food Bucks! This program matches, dollar-to-dollar up to $20, to help increase the purchasing power of SNAP recipients. So if you run your Oregon Trail card for $20, you’ll walk away from the information booth with $40 to spend at the farmers market! The coupons can only be used to buy produce.
WIC and Senior Checks (FDNP)
Customers participating in the Farm Direct Nutrition Program may use their WIC or Senior Farm Direction Nutrition Program (FDNP) checks at the Hollywood Farmers Market between June 1st and November 30th. Only produce vendors accept these checks – give the checks directly to any farmer. Check out the Farm Direct Nutrition Program website for more information.
